Shiatsu
An holistic health treatment with results in depth
Shiatsu in Japanese means ‘finger pressure’. It is a health method appeared in Japan in the early 20th century and based it’stheory on the Traditional Chinese and Japanese Medicine, like acupuncture.
Shiatsu is a method that aims to ensure and improve physical and mental wellness. Its primary purpose is the restoration of psychosomatic balance.
Any discomfort, symptom or disease shows, by the theory of Shiatsu, an imbalance in the Vital energy of the individual.
The practitioner uses the thumbs, fingers, elbows or knees to apply pressure and other techniques (stretching, etc.) to the “meridians”, the “channels” through which energy flows throughout the body.
By this way he is helping to restore the energy flow and relieve discomfort, thus promoting this sense of well-being , which is associated with health, physical and mental.
A Shiatsu session usually, lasts 50-60 minutes and is done with the receiver dressed in comfortable clothes and lying – mostly – on a mattress (futon) on the floor.
Everyone needs Shiatsu, because we all need to balance andstrengthen our body, that is given by Shiatsu.
Nobody is in perfect harmony. You do not have to be sick to begin Shiatsu, although when you are sick Shiatsu can help in many ways. It helps when you’re stressed, you have muscle tension and problems with your joints.
